Restaurant
Transformable, a temporary communal kitchen designed by Rainer Prohaska at
Vienna’s Kunstraum
Niederösterreich, formed the starting point for his early cooking performances.
Two central aspects of
Rainer Prohaska’s work find expression in Restaurant
Transformable as walkable installation and space
for social interaction. This hybrid of exhibition and performance invited
visitors to observ the
ongoing transformation of the space while the installation was being installed
as well as its subsequent use, and
to participate in preparing meals together.
