The Cars We Like is an art project that experiments with mobile sculptures as alternatives to the conventional automobile. Operating at the intersection of art, technology, and urbanism, it questions dominant concepts of mobility while proposing playful, sustainable visions for how we might move through the future.
The project unfolds in three formats: (1) workshops for building mobile sculptures, (2) rides as performative interventions in public space, and (3) exhibitions presenting the vehicles and the ideas behind them.
Experimentation, humor, Dada-inspired strategies, and collaborative creative processes are at the heart of the project. Using simple construction methods, reclaimed materials, and resource-conscious production, The Cars We Like develops site-specific, sustainable mobility concepts. Durability, reuse of components, and environmentally responsible logistics are essential principles.
The project also explores the concept of "Neuro-Mobility"—how new forms of movement influence perception, the nervous system, and our embodied experience of mobility. By reimagining the automobile as a work of art, The Cars We Like invites audiences to rethink the relationship between people, technology, and the urban environment.
